    Product Description

ZMJ Packaging manufactures custom produce boxes for farms, packhouses and fresh-food retailers. Both panel styles support customization of internal dimensions, flute type, ventilation pattern, print and moisture protection. A ventilated box keeps airflow through the stack for fresh produce, while a solid box suits processed or dry farm goods that need a closed, printed face.

    Produce Box Styles and Structures

    Ventilated Produce Box

The ventilated version is the standard pack for fresh fruit and vegetables, with round hand-holes of 25–40 mm or slot vents covering 4–8 percent of each panel so air moves through the stack during pre-cooling and cold storage. It is built in E-flute 1.1–1.4 mm or B-flute 2.5–3.0 mm with a moisture-resistant liner, printed flexo one or two colors on kraft. The MOQ is 1,000 pcs, and boxes ship flat in bundles of 25.

    Solid Produce Box

The solid version closes all four panels for processed, dry or gift-packed farm goods, and carries a printed brand face on every side. It is built in E-flute or EB double wall where the load is heavier, with the same moisture-resistant option. Internal dimensions are cut to the punnet, jar or tray count, and a die-cut divider can separate varieties. The MOQ is 1,000 pcs, and the box ships flat with the glue seam made up.

    Packaging and Shipping

Produce boxes ship flat in bundles of 25 with a paper band, on a 1,200 × 1,000 mm pallet with corner boards for export. Master cartons and pallets carry item code, internal size, revision and quantity. Where the box is used in a cold chain, the pallet is stretch wrapped with vents left open so air still moves through the stack.

    Sampling and Production

Samples can be completed in approximately 3–5 days to check internal size, flute type, vent pattern, print and stack performance before mass production. Tooling includes the cutting die and flexo plates, with a vent punch where a slot pattern is specified. Mass production takes approximately 10–15 days after sample approval and deposit confirmation, with the final schedule depending on board preparation.

We archive the approved specification, so the next harvest season keeps the same vent pattern and print. Finished boxes are inspected for size, open area, compression and print registration before shipment. An inspection can be arranged at our plant or at the port.

    FAQ

    1. What types of produce boxes can you manufacture?
We manufacture ventilated boxes, solid boxes, corrugated trays and sleeve-style boxes. Each style can be customized for different fresh produce, processed agricultural products and packaging requirements.
    2. Which corrugated flute is suitable for produce box packaging?
E-flute is suitable for lightweight packaging and smaller boxes, while B-flute provides greater cushioning and stacking strength. EB double-wall corrugated board is available for heavier loads and higher stacking requirements.
    3. Can I customize the ventilation holes and box dimensions?
Yes. We customize internal dimensions, round hand-holes, slot vents and ventilation layouts according to the produce type, packing quantity and cooling requirements. Custom sizes can also be matched to existing punnets or trays.
    4. Are these boxes suitable for cold storage and refrigerated transportation?
Yes. Moisture-resistant liners and water-resistant adhesives are available for chilled storage and damp environments. Board specifications and ventilation layouts can be adjusted according to the expected storage conditions and transportation route.
    5. How much weight can each box hold?
Load capacity depends on the corrugated flute, board grade, box dimensions, ventilation openings and stacking conditions. We recommend confirming the expected product weight and stacking height before production, followed by compression and loaded-stack testing.
    6. Can the boxes be printed with our company logo and product information?
Yes. We offer one- or two-color flexographic printing on kraft or white-top paper. Printing can include company logos, farm names, product varieties, country of origin and barcodes.
    7. Do you provide samples before mass production?
Yes. Samples are generally available within 3–5 days for checking dimensions, board structure, ventilation, printing and assembly. Mass production begins after sample approval and deposit confirmation.
    8. What is the minimum order quantity and production lead time?
The standard MOQ is 1,000 pieces. Mass production typically takes 10–15 days after sample approval and deposit confirmation. The actual schedule depends on order specifications and material preparation.
